BOOK FAIR
We had a fantastic response to the recent Book Fair, selling over £1,200 worth of books.   This resulted in new books for the library to the value of £650.   Thank you.

NESTLE BOX TOPS
Once again, we are collecting the ‘Box Tops for Books’ from Nestle.   Please bring in any tokens and put them in the collecting box next to the front office.

For as little as ten tokens, we can get one book.

Thank you.

YEAR 8 THEATRE TRIP
On Wednesday 31 October, Year 8 went to see ‘The Tempest’ at the Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge.   We have been studying the play  for three weeks.   When we first saw Caliban and Ariel it was really funny.   You really had to concentrate on what everyone was saying because we are not used to Shakespeare’s language.   The whole of Year 8 enjoyed the performance.
Thank you to the parents who came and a big thank you to Miss Robinson for organaising the trip.

GIFTED AND TALENTED WORKSHOP

On Thursday November 1, 16 pupils from years 7 and 8 participated in a dance workshop at Great Cornard Upper School.   We learnt various techniques including travelling, salsa, hip hop, street and jazz.   We also did some challenging lifts and balances.   All the participants thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the experience.   We would like to thank all the parents who helped with transport and a big thank you to Paula, our dance teacher, for the morning.

ANTI-BULLYING POLICY
Thank you to all parents who commented on our draft anti-bullying policy.  The responses were overwhelmingly positive.  We will now take the policy to Governors for adoption.

You will already have received a letter about our anti-bullying workshops for Years 7 and 8. These take part during national anti-bullying awareness week, 19—23 November.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 PUPIL RECEPTION

Each day a pupil in Year 8 works at the Front Office to help with duties such as welcoming visitors, returning lost property and taking messages.  We also have Year 8 Prefects who help teachers and pupils with their day-to-day business such as working with younger pupils during wet breaks.
