Maths is taught as a setted subject right through from year 5 to year 8.  Setting enables us to work at a quicker rate with the most able who enjoy learning at a fast pace.

 

In KS2 (years 5 and 6) there are five Maths groups in each year.  This enables us to have smaller groups and give individual attention, particularly to the children who find maths difficult.   In KS3 (years 7 and 8) there are four Maths groups in each year.

 

Judged by our results in 2007 at Key Stage 2 our teaching is good - 90% or more reached level 4 or above.   Over 40% of children achieved level 5.  Our internal assessments show us that our children make very good progress across the four years of the school.
