ICT is a growing and essential part of the curriculum.   We are proud of the fact that we now have enough computers to give us a ratio of one computer to every three children - something that many upper schools envy.

 

These computers are used for a designated lesson each week for all year groups.   They are also used in other subjects where children use the Internet and a range of programmes to extract information and practise new skills.

 

It is not just in ICT that we have excellent facilities.   We have two fully equipped science laboratories and a technology suite with rooms for teaching resistant materials and making food and textile products.

 

We are fortunate in having a team of experienced science teachers and an electronics engineer leading the technology department.   Both science and technology are very popular subjects in which we do well.

 

Our high level of science teaching can be judged by the fact that in 2007 96% of year six pupils reached the target level, with 65% achieving level 5.
